This company has been in business since 1875. Coleman’s Organic Whole Chickens are so very good. Costcos packages them in twos and this is a great deal! Our local Costcos in Arlington, TX and Duncanville, TX discontinued them for awhile. When this happened, I called Coleman’s about finding these great chickens in other stores. They let me know that their chickens are also marketed under the name “Rosie’s Chicken.” I found them at Sprouts and they are packaged in singles, however, the birds are slightly larger. The price is a little bit more purchased like this. Fortunately, our Costcos near us are now carrying them again! At Christmas they ran out so it was handy to once again have the option to make my way over to Sprouts to pick one up. Whew! Christmas dinner saved. Another important thing I’ve discovered is that when I roast the chicken in water, it creates the most wonderful broth! It’s hard for me to believe I used to throw this “gold mine” out! It’s a great base for any soup. My husband misses it when my butternut squash soup is cooked without it. Also, for anyone suffering and still try to heal your stomach, if you don’t know by now, soup broth from chickens and beef bones is one of the best foods for healing the lining of your stomach!

Here is a link to the Whole Organic Chicken on the Coleman’s site. You’ll need to click on the link that says, “Where to buy” at the bottom of any page on their site to see which stores carry them. Hopefully, one is located near you. Remember, it may say “Coleman” or “Rosie’s” on the packaging but it’s the same great product.
